Welcome!

Welcome to The Wheels of Progress: a brief history of the Bertram Family of Dundas.

This site is a virtual reconstruction of an exhibit originally created by Bertram family members — Janet Bertram Brown (granddaughter of Henry Bertram and daughter of Lennard Bertram), her husband Warren Brown, and their daughter Carolyn Brown —  as part of the Bertram Room at the Dundas Museum and Archives.

It tells, very briefly, the story of the Bertram family and their business in Dundas, Ontario, Canada. It is also a work in progress, so more stories, documents, and images will be added on a regular basis.

The photographs and documents presented are either from one of the groups of records (fonds) created and maintained by various Bertram family members which are now held at the Dundas Museum and Archives or from the Dundas Museum and Archives Photograph Collection.

For more information about the Bertram family and the records they created, please contact the Dundas Museum and Archives via email at mail@dundasmuseum.ca or by phone at 905.627.7412.
